2) Music Director Transition – Our Music Director, Don Burlock received a new call in southwest Florida. We give thanks to Don and his family for their time with us, and pray for God’s blessing as he begins a new, and exciting, chapter in his life. Don’s last Sunday with Good Shepherd was 5/18/13. We’ll begin the search process for a new Music Director in the coming months. For now, Ms. Erika Choi will be with our congregation as a supply musician; she’ll be serving until August 4th.

3) Constitution - The transition process calls upon us to review, update, and possibly revise our Constitution. There will be a meeting approximately 15 minutes after the conclusion of service on June 23rd. The agenda for the meeting is to discuss the update process and pick a panel of individuals to perform the necessary work. All members are invited to attend and participate. Additional information will be provided in the coming weeks.

Can you believe the summer is actually here? Where have the first five months of 2013 gone?! Below are some dates for June and July.

• Beginning on Sunday, May 26, 2013, (Memorial Day Weekend) the congregation moved to one Sunday liturgy at 10:00am. This will last through September 1, 2013 (Labor Day Weekend). The two services will return September 8, 2013 at 8:30 and 11:00am.

• Thursday Night Zumba will not be meeting during the month of June.

• Our students will be staying busy this summer. Please keep our middle school students in your prayers as they travel to Luther Springs for Confirmation Camp June 23rd – June 28th. Our high school students will be journeying to New York City for a mission trip on June 29th – July 7th. We pray for safe travels, life-changing weeks, and faith building experiences!

• Following the 10am service on June 30th, we will be having a congregational potluck. Bring a dish if you can, some friends, and we’ll see you there!

• Vacation Bible School will be Sunday, July 21 through Thursday, July 25 from 6 pm to 8:30pm. The theme will be “Everywhere Fun Fair“.

• Following the week of VBS, we’ll be hosting our second year of Day Camp with Luther Springs. Day Camp will begin Monday, July 29 and run to Friday, August 2nd. Pastor Pam will be joining us as of February 4, 2013. The Council has entered into an appointment contract with Pastor Pam to be with Good Shepherd 5 days each week, including Sunday. Pastor Pam will be off on Friday and Saturday each week.

Her first Sunday will be February 10, 2013 and we hope that you will be here to greet her!

Their last Sunday with us will be on February 3rd, 2013. We will worship together with one service at 10:00am, and then enjoy a 12:30pm lunch at Banquet Masters in Seminole. Further, in the coming days, a mailing with information regarding a dinner for Pastor Chip & Susan will be sent, and will also be posted on this site.

Aside, details regarding the actual transition process are still being figured. Before a new Pastor will be called, Good Shepherd will be in an intentional discernment period. If you have any questions or concerns, you are invited to talk with Pastor Chip or the church office.
