The month of June begins the tenure of our new Director of Youth & Families, Hilary Michalak! Hilary is an absolute Youth & Family Ministry superstar.
Hilary comes to Good Shepherd from a congregation in Midland, Michigan, where she has been serving as their Director of Youth Ministries for the past few years. Her time at Trinity Lutheran exposed her to working with all age groups, along with developing and engaging volunteers.
Prior to being in a congregational setting, she served in various capacities with Living Water Ministries. Living Water Ministries is a well‐established, ELCA Outdoor Ministry. Throughout the country, they are known for the high level of quality camping they provide. Her experiences with camping vary from being a camper, to becoming a Program Director for Adventure Camps, and just about everything in between.
A self‐described ‘cradle Lutheran’, Hilary is a 2009 graduate of DePaul University, a Catholic college in Chicago, and has a passion for the arts and fitness. God has blessed Good Shepherd with a rain of simply fantastic individuals who have a heart for young people. In recent years, we think of Tom Holdcraft, Mark Ralston, and Patti Nickol. It is a real pleasure to welcome Hilary on board, knowing full well that God will bless her and our time together, just as God has done time and time again!
